Eastern AHEC’s Response to Coronavirus
Eastern AHEC is closely monitoring the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) across North Carolina and assessing its potential impacts on our services.
On October 2, North Carolina entered Phase 3, which on November 13 was extended through December 4. Eastern AHEC will continue to offer most programs via webinar through the remainder of 2020 for the safety of our participants. We will continue to update our course catalog.
NEW: We have partnered with the Brody School of Medicine to provide updated guidance for providers on the outpatient management of COVID-19. We are also working to provide free recordings of our weekly grand rounds as soon as possible. Click here to view the guidance document.

For any upcoming in-person programs, Eastern AHEC will comply with all policies and guidance from East Carolina University, North Carolina AHEC, the NC Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other authorities. Any changes to programs will be communicated to registered participants and posted on our catalog.
More information will be posted to this page. For questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
As of September, most of our fall 2020 programs will be offered via webinar. We will continue to update our course catalog.
As of August, Eastern AHEC faculty and staff are continuing to work remotely. We are offering online programs (both live and recorded/self-paced) on our course catalog. We hope to return to in-person programming after September 11.
As of June, Eastern AHEC faculty and staff are continuing to work remotely. We are offering online programs (both live and recorded/self-paced) on our course catalog. We hope to return to in-person programming after July 31.
We are complying with the governor’s statewide stay-at-home order effective March 30 to April 29. We will promptly notify registered participants of any changes to our scheduled programming. We will also update our Course Catalog.
We are adding live webinar options for both participants and speakers for upcoming programs on a case-by-case basis.
Previously we followed the CDC’s March 15 guidance to cancel or postpone events over 50 people over the next 8 weeks, as well as the president’s March 16 guidance to limit gatherings to 10 people over the next 15 days. Many of our staff our now working remotely. We are rescheduling programs, adjusting capacity, room arrangement, and/or delivery methods to allow for social distancing as much as possible.
We recognize that healthcare professionals’ first priority is patient health and safety, but we want to maintain educational options for those who are willing or able to attend.
Refund Policy – If Eastern AHEC cancels an event, we will offer full refunds. If we offer a webinar and that does not work out for a participant, we will also offer a full refund. If we reschedule an event and you cannot make the new date, we will offer a full refund. Transfers and substitutions are still welcome as always.
Participants – If you do not feel well or if you are in a high-risk population, please do not attend an Eastern AHEC event. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding your individual situation.
